By The Shadow

Well the weather has been hot this week and so is the racing here tonight at Angle Park with a very strong 12 event program, we have the 2022 Sprint Final (race 8) and 5 heats of the John Gray ( races 1 through to 5 ). As always all races are Trifecta and First Four events so lets keep on backing winners as we have over the last 6 weeks.

Race 1 - Brief proved too strong from this draw here last week and kicked our night off on the front foot, she has the pace to lead and win again as she loves this draw. Threaten has been in terrific form winning his past two the wide draw is the concern. Aston Marlon is a chance if he brings his Mount Gambier form with him. Box Up

Race 2 - Springvale Maddi can bounce back in this, she looked to have every chance here last week when 2nd but hopefully she can go straight to the front here and score. Run Like Jess is very strong and was a last start winner at The Meadows. Midnight Blast is an each way chance from the good draw. Box Up

Race 3 - We will go with the newcomer here in Mr. Ticket who is now in the Rawlings kennel, he has 11 wins next to his name from 43 starts and has been placed at Wenty late last year and is drawn well here. Enthusiastic has won two from 3 since transferring here to SA and is a chance as is Twin Pick who is capable of showing up. Box Up

Race 4 - The Trengove kennel have a handy team in work and they can go close with Kingsville Flyer in this, he has struck form with 3 wins all over the 530m. Barbados Express can handle the wide draw and is dropping back here in distance. Weblec Blade can add some value to the First Four. Box Up

Race 5 - Sunset Toxic was very impressive when winning at Gawler last run in quick time and looks very hard to beat in this, so we will put him on top. Alfieri can never be overlooked when he draws the rails and is the improver. He’s All Purpose has a good strike rate here and is a chance. Box Up

Race 6 - Memphis Keeping has a perfect record here since transferring to SA, he has been carving out quick times and is the one to catch again in this. Aston Gypsy landed some handy bets here last week when leading throughout and is drawn to be in the mix again. Fantastic Victor will be charging home. Box Up

Race 7 - This is over the 595m and it’s a wide open affair for mine, I have gone with Sold No Houses as he has been placed here on 4 occasions  and he looks a chance of leading. Departure Gate has been racing well at the Mount and has placed here in the past. Box Up

Race 8 - This is the Final of the 2022 SA Sprint with $15,000 going to the winner, Tony Rasmussen has done a fantastic job getting 4 runners through to the final and his main chances look to be Victa Grosso and Victa Haydn both won here last week coming from midfield and are right in this. Stout Monelli is my top pick, he found trouble here last week from a wide draw but has the rails here and has been very impressive prior running good times. Box Up

Race 9 - Tough race this one, I have stuck with last start winner here Lot Of Poise who has shown ability at both his runs here in SA. Archman is in the Jovanovic kennel and was a winner up the straight at the Bridge, he is sure to be well tried. Our Vinnie can run into the placings. Box Up

Race 10 - Another wide open affair here and the main chances look to be Little Purpose who has good early speed. Psychotic Babe who continues to get our hopes up in the runs and Researched who has handy Gawler form box them up and we should go close. Box Up

Race 11 - This is over the 730m and Frankie Boy is the pin up boy over this trip of late winning 6 of his 8 starts, he should take beating again. Victa Jess has been racing well over the 595m and is a chance of leading for a long way. Trifecta in order for $1

Race 12 - Stranger Tides can send us home on a winning note, he has the rails draw and can nearly lead here tonight. He’s On Fire can figure he has been racing well at the Bridge and Gawler and has early pace. Sentinel McLaren is strong. Box Up
